The Sun Goes Behind the Clouds

The sun goes behind the clouds

Just like when life is so loud

I cannot hear myself think

So I grab another drink

Just to quiet all the noise

Made by all those girls and boys

And the buzzing of my mind

As the melodies unwind

Of the songs and neon lights

Of so many neon nights

All those pretty little words

Spoke too loudly to be heard

Become just a garbled mess

So hereby I must confess

I know not whither, where, what

Sense there is to make or not

No quietude to be found

So I head deep underground

‘neath that recess of my soul

Where I find no joy nor dole

Blanket under I can rest

And find peace that is most blest

Where no longer must I run

Like when clouds cover the sun
